Kuwana Haulsey has written more than 20 books for major publishing houses such as Random House, Simon and Schuster, HarperCollins, Hay House, as well as a host of independent publishers. Kuwana’s books include the critically acclaimed novels The Red Moon and Angel of Harlem, the memoir Everything I Needed to Know I Learned from My Six-Month-Old, and the children’s book The Firewalker’s Key.

 

She’s the winner of multiple national and international awards. With the publication of Angel of Harlem, the Penn/Faulkner Foundation named her one of the “Best New Voices in American Literature.” In addition to writing books, Kuwana is an accomplished screen writer, actress, photographer, workshop leader, editor and content creator for major websites. 

 

As a journalist, she’s written cover stories for national magazines and newspapers like Ebony, Uptown Magazine, The Washington Post and the Star Ledger.
